Kits come in a variety of construction materials such as wood or vinyl. Playhouse sizes range from 4' x 4' x 5' up to 10' x 13' x 9'.
Some manufacturers also offer a selection of plans if you want to start your child's dream house from scratch.
Kompleteness of Kits/Tools/Finishing: Some kits provide everything you'll need (including hardware, flooring, siding and roofing materials). Some kits provide only the basic shell construction materials; so you'll need to purchase the windows, doors, trim and roofing separately. Most components are pre-formed, pre-hung and pre-drilled. Most kits require no cutting, sawing or measuring.
Simple household tools – like a level, screwdriver and a small stepladder – are all you'll need to assemble your kit.

Note: if you need to buy windows for your playhouse, be sure to buy acrylic-plastic windows, instead of glass, for safety. All kits allow you to choose your own paints, stains and sealers.
Skill: Anyone can assemble a playhouse kit in as little as 1-4 hours. No carpentry experience is necessary. We recommend two people working together – it's the perfect family afternoon project!
